Houses (part II)

Mid-century modern house

Springs, wood, found objects

After taking the papier mache and cardboard houses idea about as far as I could, another approach was needed. I like real buildings that are made from materials at the site - stone, pise, mud bricks, wood. I decided to make some model houses from items in the garden, chiefly stones, and see if they decline and integrate into the land in a more picturesque and convincing manner than the cardboard ones did.
The miniature houses are pleasing to look at. After six weeks some have deteriorated, and others remain much as they were. Because the weather has been dry, there has been little change to neigbouring vegetation; there's plenty of time for observation in coming weeks and months.
